Solar farm economic summary presented to county

Columbus News-Report — July 7, 2025

Representatives of Rainbow Springs Solar (panel) Project, appeared before the County Commissioners Monday. They discussed a planned 225-megawatt solar energy facility in Cherokee County, with construction scheduled to commence in 2028. Craig Compton, of the Barton School of Business, Wichita State University, delivered an economic impact analysis of the Clearway Energy project planned for Cherokee County which he had prepared.
